Designed around the new wave of banking technology and inspired by the nautical community of the Annapolis waterfront, Essex Bank’s first branch of the future reaches the client’s growing Millennial demographic. Through Immersion, our half-day brand strategy workshop, the client was able to explore and define its goals for its first dialogue banking branch model. Part of the design challenge was to maximize a limited 2,000-sf of retail space. The branch refresh features a demo bar to display and demonstrate online banking tools via tablets, smartphones, and computers. Also included in the renovation is a striking feature wall with the Essex logo and display monitor. Two floating offices provide space for private financial conversations, and two pods provide an area for bank employees to conduct transactions and talk with customers. The retail space also features comfortable lounge seating and a coffee station for customers.
