Cornerstone Bank challenged Baskervill with designing a bank headquarters and branch that fit within the historic setting of downtown Lexington. Recognizing the importance of scale on this busy intersection, Baskervill designed the structure to look like two distinct buildings. The client knew a drive-thru was important, but the city’s Architectural Review Board was hesitant to sign off on one given the surrounding aesthetic. Baskervill’s solution took advantage of the separately designed facades, creating a street-level pass-through with space for the bank’s offices above.
