Like the legendary icons who once graced the streets, stages, and storefronts of the historic Jackson Ward neighborhood, Jackson Place is conceptualized as an embodiment of Richmond’s energetic and vibrant future, serving as a visual beacon of the city’s creative resurgence. The design is a modern remix of classic Jackson Ward, inspired by the neighborhood’s distinct rhythm, flow, and architectural styles – but what will truly make this a place to call home is building on Jackson Ward’s eclectic and distinctive community, rich in history and heritage.  Community resources, such as a workforce training lab, early childhood development center, and wellness facility, are embedded into this mixed-use complex, anchoring Jackson Place as a resource for residents and community members alike. A pocket park, reminiscent of neighboring green spaces, is nestled between the major structures of the complex, which house a mix of commercial, residential, and hospitality functions. A parking garage for nearly 400 cars sits below the larger of the two structures, surrounded by a mix of retail and community space on the ground floor and 209 units of residential apartments above.
