After acquiring 63,000 SF for a new office space in a multi-tenant building, Anchor Financial was eager to launch a fresh and upbeat environment to match its buoyant corporate culture. Baskervill’s workspace interiors team (with a little assist from its dedicated MEP engineers) jumped on a space planning and cost estimation effort to make sure the renovation would meet Anchor’s vision and budget. The end result? A collaborative, open plan with a mix of unassigned bench seating and ample conference rooms for private work. Using Anchor’s nautical theme as inspiration, Baskervill created a pared down color palette with splashes of fun artwork and fabric, going so far as to design a custom wallpaper that brings the original oceanic theme up to date. Continuing to take maritime cues, the flow of the building follows that of a ship, with bright and airy open space leading into inner “cabin” offices that feature darker floors and upholstered walls. Although the upper, internal levels will be a mix of fun and fluid, the first floor, which is customer-facing, will be sharp and sophisticated.
