Influenced by Spanish sculptor and architect Xavier Corbero’s poetic vision for the world, the award-winning design of the AC Hotel Charlotte SouthPark serves to amplify the SouthPark area’s reputation as a high-end fashion enclave. Corbero’s aesthetic – most notably represented in his labyrinth home – inspired the restrained European modernism of the space, taking on the architectural silhouette of a sculptor. Manifesting this vision are arches and curves repeated throughout. Off-whites and pale grays contrast with tones of black and deep green; sculptural accents are infused in lighting and artwork. The property includes a unique indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and event space, as well as a ground floor patio off the bar area. The 162-room, eight-story property is a distinctive addition to Marriott’s AC collection, weaving the brand story and the influences of Corbero in unexpected and memorable ways.
