Elevating Excellence: Baskervill’s New Principals and Associates 

Today, we proudly celebrate the next chapter for twelve individuals, recognizing this milestone in their professional growth and dedication. These promotions not only highlight their personal successes but also embody the continuous growth of our firm, rooted in our core values of trust, empathy, flexibility, and transparency. They’re a collective leap forward, a reflection of our firm’s vibrant future.  

Baskervill is pleased to announce the promotion of three new principals and nine new associates to our leadership team. Allison Lynch, Matthew Marsili, and Justin Sculthorpe have been named Principals; Chris Broughton, Catherine Hendrick, Jeremy Hite, Fred Hopkins, Cassie Joyce, April Martinez, Sydnor Scholer, Sarah Tetens, and Jessica Zullo have been named Associates. Allison Lynch | Baskervill

Principal | Chief Administrative Officer

For Allison, the best part of her job is “hands down, the people”. With a decade of experience in marketing and communications as the foundation of her expertise, she draws upon a deep understanding of the built environment and her adept communication skills to lead Baskervill’s business management with a uniquely personal touch. 

Overseeing legal and risk, strategy, licensure and compliance, data, and administration, she works closely with firm leadership to navigate the impacts of process and culture on the firm’s future. While her job leans more toward spreadsheets than sketchbooks, she finds it incredibly gratifying to know that the behind-the-scenes work directly supports the design efforts of the firm. 

Having embarked on her journey with Baskervill in 2011 and ascending to the role of Associate just two years ago, Allison has been witness to and an active participant in the remarkable growth and transformation of our firm. A thoughtful team player with a quick wit and an unyielding love for strong coffee, Allison infuses her collaboration-focused workstyle with passion and purpose. Great design that connects people is more important than ever, and Allison’s work helps make that possible.

Matthew isn’t just a design director; he’s a fun and friendly collaborator whose passion for crafting transformative spaces knows no bounds. Stationed in the vibrant Richmond office, Matthew’s journey through various design studios—workplace, retail, and hospitality—has gifted him with unique insights and perspectives in his role today in Baskervill’s Education studio. 

Promoted to Associate six years ago, Matthew is a visionary leader of the interior design team. His diverse experiences across various design studios enhance every project. In crafting learning spaces for rapidly evolving student needs, Matthew blends elements from the workplace sector, creating environments that inspire creativity and collaboration. His background in hospitality informs his designs with a keen sense of ambiance and experience, producing spaces that reflect each school or university’s unique essence while exuding a welcoming warmth. 

Matthew’s multifaceted approach consistently pushes the boundaries of traditional design, delivering personalized solutions that redefine educational environments. His boundless energy and artistic flair drive each project forward, leaving a mark of creativity, empathy, and wisdom.

At the heart of Justin’s work in Baskervill’s Education studio is a dedication to people—the clients he serves, the communities he impacts, and the team he mentors. Based in the Richmond office, Justin’s canvas effortlessly telescopes between macro and micro, leading projects that encompass everything from large-scale masterplanned campuses to tailored classrooms.  

In Justin’s world, design is not just a profession; it’s a calling—an ever-evolving journey of exploration and innovation. While Justin’s expertise spans the entire design process, it’s the genesis of an idea that ignites his passion. Guided by a blend of intuition and technical prowess, he continuously exudes creativity, seeking out new design opportunities in every corner.  

Since being promoted to Associate six years ago, Justin continues to shape the built environment, remaining steadfast in his mission to bring quality design to the forefront, one inspired space at a time. As he looks ahead, he eagerly anticipates the chance to continue serving both familiar faces and new clients, all while nurturing the professional growth of his colleagues and advancing Baskervill’s legacy.

The trailblazing force behind Baskervill’s Denver team, Chris infuses his designs and leadership with a commitment to efficiency. Like all good Denverites, he looks to the simplicity of nature as his ultimate benchmark, striving to embed clear purpose in his designs and collaboration style. His portfolio is a testament to his talent for blending functionality with aesthetic appeal, making him a vital asset to any project aiming to leave a lasting impression on both the community and the landscape. Beyond the boardroom, Chris finds solace in crafting furniture, echoing his commitment to design as not just a profession, but a lifestyle.

With a range of experience on a variety of projects, from manufacturing and logistics to healthcare, multifamily, and workplace, Catherine brings a diverse skillset to the Education studio. Based in the Richmond office, her expertise in engineering coordination has positioned her as a trustworthy project manager among her peers and clients alike. As Catherine steps into the role of Associate, she eagerly anticipates more opportunities for project management and leadership. Committed to personal growth, she embraces challenges and seeks continuous learning through formal training, mentorship, and in-field experiences. 

Jeremy Hite Associate | BIM Director Baskervill

For Jeremy, lending a helping hand is what it’s all about. As Baskervill’s BIM Director based in the firm’s Richmond office, he oversees the integration and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies across all projects. Since joining the firm in 2018, hes been instrumental in developing and implementing advanced BIM strategies, making sure the firm stays at the forefront of digital design and construction innovation. His expertise bridges gaps and fosters communication at every level, while his problem-solving skills and insightful feedback propel us forward. Jeremy’s sunny disposition is a perfect match for our firm’s ethos, fueling his passion for the work we do. 

Fred Hopkins

Associate | Studio Director

As a studio director in the firm’s Civic & Cultural studio based in the Richmond office, Fred develops solutions to the most technically challenging projects that are both well designed and constructible. With a hands-on approach, Fred collaborates directly with clients, engineers, and contractors, bringing his vast expertise and a diverse skill set—from meticulous QC reviews to seamless coordination of consultant partners. Within his team, and broader Baskervill, Fred revels in nurturing talent and fostering a culture of collaboration. His mission? To win the trust of clients, design partners, and teammates alike, knowing that solid relationships are the bedrock of exceptional project outcomes.

An interior designer for the firm’s Education studio based in the Richmond office, Cassie is fueled by the dynamic nature of her work, where each day and project brings unique challenges and opportunities for learning. Over her ten-year tenure with Baskervill, she fully immerses herself in the projects she touches, helping education clients invigorate their spaces so every student can thrive. Her design aesthetic stems from a simple philosophy: to always be flexible and open-minded. She’s passionate about acquiring new skills while honing existing ones as she continues her professional journey.

Associate | Director of Human Resources

April serves as the dynamic Director of Human Resources and the backbone of all HR operations. Based in Richmond but serving Baskervill’s diverse and growing workforce worldwide, April is known for her exceptional kindness and unparalleled organizational prowess. She masterfully steers all facets of the firm’s HR functions, including recruitment, benefits administration, talent relations, and compliance. She also plays a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee satisfaction. Previously certified by the Supreme Court as a mediator, April loves the unique opportunity to problem-solve daily, working with employees to create a safe and positive work environment.

Sydnor, a seasoned architect within the Education studio at the Richmond office, infuses every project with an unwavering attention to both design and detail. She thrives on the dynamic challenges each day presents, which means she’s never bored and always engaged. Her goal? To contribute to a team that clients want to collaborate with. As she takes the next step in her career, she’s looking forward to continuing to build relationships with teammates, clients, and consultant partners alike. 

Sarah Tetens

Associate | Design Director 

Sarah is the heart and soul of our Healthcare studio, where she serves as Design Director. As an experienced healthcare interior designer, Sarah relishes the privilege of directly impacting those who benefit from her designs: patients, caregivers, providers, and families. Based in Orlando, Sarah guides clients through every phase, from design to construction to occupancy, finding unparalleled fulfillment in creating spaces that promote healing and optimize performance for all who enter.

Studio director Jessica believes her job is about more than just managing projects; it’s about crafting experiences that redefine a city’s landscape. Based in the firm’s Richmond office, Jessica spearheads the strategic vision and day-to-day operations of the studio, with an eye toward seamless project execution from inception to completion. What sets her apart? Her ability to connect deeply with teammates and clients, to understand their needs from every angle. She doesn’t just meet expectations; she leaves a lasting impression on everyone involved.
