Fort Eustis Vehicle Maintenance Facility Fort - Eustis, VA
The Army Corps of Engineers employed Baskervill, along with CCI and Clough Harbor & Associates, to design and construct Fort Eustis’ new TEMF facility.
The project included a vehicle maintenance shop, organizational vehicle parking, an oil storage building and deployment equipment storage, and is equipped with intrusion detection systems (IDS). This is Fort Eustis’ first design/build project and was developed to meet the government’s mandate that all new buildings must meet a minimum standard of LEED Silver. Sustainable design elements include daylighting strategies, a dual burn combustion system and employed an Integrative Design Process, where all members of the design/build team, along with the client, regularly met to discuss all aspects of the project to maximize efficiency and minimize changes. This project was also designed to capture all the tax credits available through the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT 2005).
